CV / BIO
GULGUN ALIRIZA received her BFA from the State University of New York at Purchase with Summa Cum Laude in 2005 and she received her MFA from Western Connecticut University in 2007, with additional studies in painting and drawing completed at New York Studio School. She is the recipient of several grants and a residency program award. In 2007, she was an artist in residence at the Vermont Studio Center. In 2013 her work was featured in The Power of Place at the Hudson Valley MOCA. Aliriza exhibits regularly in the Northeast and represented by Blue Mountain Gallery in New York City where she has had three solo exhibitions. On February 23, 2024, a solo exhibit opens at Union Gallery, Wagner College, in Staten Island NYC. Aliriza is an American painter, born in Cyprus, who lives and works as an Adjunct Professor of Drawing at Manhatanville University in New York.
